✦ Synopsis


Liquid holdups and wall-to-bed heat transfer coefficients in threephase fluidized beds with glass beads and cylindrical y-alumina particles were determined ex- perimentally. It was found that the product of heat transfer coefficient and liquid holdup in threephase fludized beds is equal to that in corresponding liquid-solid fluidized beds. A generalized correlation equation for heat transfer coefficients in both liquid-solid and threephase fluidized beds was proposed based on the above relationship.
