✦ Synopsis

The residues of [3Hj-17-methyltestosterone (17MT) m rambow trout after a smgle mtragastnc dose (200 pg, 0 37 MBq) were mvesttgated The metabobtes were extracted from bver and carcass wrath chloroform-methanol

(2 + 1, v/v) After enzymatic hydrolysu of the glucuromdes, uncoqlugated steroids and aglycones were chromatographed by reversed-phase hqmd chromatography Each labelled fraction was collected and analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry After 24 h, the bver contamed 4% of the admmlstered dose In the hepa& uncowugated and aglycone fractrons the maJor metabobte was an mmer of 17a-methylandrostane-3Z,16f,17B-tnol 7a-Hydroxy-17a-methylandrostane-3a,l7&dlol

was also observed m the uncoqugated fraction In addltlon to these metabohtes, unchanged 17MT, 17a-methy1-5/3-androstane-3a,l7B_dlol and 17p-hydroxyandrosta4,6-dlen-3-one were Identified m the uncon-Jugated fraction extracted from carcass samples After 72 h, 7a-hydroxy-17a-methylandrctstane-3a,17~d~ol persrsted to a s~gmtkant extent m carcass samples whereas no trace of 17MT was detected Thus metabohte could therefore be used as an m&cator of the admmlstratlon of 17MT m fish &vword.s Gas chromatography, Lqmd chromatography, Mass spectrometry, Anabohc steroids, Fish, Methyltestosterone, Steroids
