โฆ Synopsis
A reversed-phase liquid chromatographic method for the determination of the anti-malarial drug pyronaridine in plasma was developed. The optimum conditions for the determination of pyronaridine in spiked human plasma were also used to assay the drug in animal plasma and blood. Diethyl ether used for liquid-liquid extraction was found to give the highest recovery (85%) among several solvents tested. A column packed with lo-pm octadecyl @is) particles was used with isocratic elution with 0.08 M potassium dihvdroaenuhosnhate buffer-acetonitrile (85 : 15, v/v) _ __ _ containing 1% triethylamine. The detection limit with a UV detector measuring on-column for the pure compound and plasma, respectively.
