✦ Synopsis
The copper(H), mckel(II) and palladmm(I1) complexes of the tetradentate hgands N,N '-1,2-propylenebd5,5-dl-methyl4oxohexan-2-mnne) and N,N'-1,2-propylenebls(6-methyl-4-oxoheptan-2-umne) (H,IVA,pn) were prepared and separated by gas chromatography and reversed-phase liquid chromatography (LC) The latter provides a good separation of copper, nickel and palladium from each other and from the excess of the reagent on a Nova-Pak Cl, or Microsorb C,, column \mth an elutlon tnne of 5-14 mm and UV detection A hquld-hqmd extraction procedure was used pnor to the simultaneous determmatlon of O-100 1.18 copper and nickel by LC usmg H,IVA,pn
The detection limits for copper and nickel were 1 and 0 5 pg m a l-cm3 ahquot A corn was analysed for copper and nickel
