In the system BaF 2 /BF 3 /PF 5 /anhydrous hydrogen fluoride (aHF) a compound Ba(BF 4 )(PF 6 ) was isolated and characterized by Raman spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction on the single crystal. Ba(BF 4 )(PF 6 ) crystallizes in a hexagonal P62m space group with a ¼ 10.2251(4) Å, c ¼ 6.1535(4) Å, V ¼ 5

✦ Synopsis
Raman and proton nmr spectra of liquid NH 3 and liquid ND 3 solutions of tetrafluoroborate [BF4]-perchlorate [Cl04]-and [PFb]-salts have been studied.
Ammonia-cation interactions were found to be dominant and no evidence for anioncation or anion-solvent interactions was found, indicating a similarity of behaviour for these anions in both aqueous and ammonia solutions.
