It has been suggested that oxygen free radicals (OFR) depress the excitation-contraction coupling in cardiac muscle. It is possible that a decrease in the cardiac contractility in the failing heart may be due to an increased OFR producing activity of polymorphonuclear (PMN) leukocytes. We studied th
