โœฆ Synopsis

Supported lipozyme catalysed esterification of isosorbide and sorbitol individually with oleic acid is studied in a tubular recycle reactor which is packed with enzyme, silica gel and solid reactant. Isosorbide produces only monooleate while sorbitoi produces both mono and dioleates during the reaction.

The kinetics of the synthesis of several esters of different chain length and physical properties was studied. A commercial Candida antarctica lipase was used as catalyst for the synthesis of oleyl oleate, isopropyl oleate, isopropyl palmitate, myristyl myristate, cetyl oleate, and oleyl 2methylbuty

Isoamyl acetate was synthesised in high yields (>90%) via lipase catalysed acylation of the corresponding alcohol by ammonium acetate in supercritical carbon dioxide (SCCD) and by acetic acid in hexane. The esterification rate was higher in hexane. The product yield depended sharply on the reagent c
