✦ Synopsis

Linkage data of the four gene markers Pi, Gm, GLO, and HLA exclude Gm and Pi gene assignment to the short arm of chromosome 6. The findings, however, do not disprove the following gene order: HLA--GLO--centromere--Gm--Pi.

From family studies close linkage between the gene locus for variegate porphyria (VP) and the alpha-1-antitrypsin (PI) gene became evident. The maximal lod score from male meioses was 4.33 at theta = 0.04 and from both sexes combined 3.56 at theta = 0.12. Three pedigrees were triple informative rega

To increase the number of type I loci on the chicken linkage map, chicken genes containing microsatellite sequences (TA__n__, CA__n__, GA__n__, A__n__) were selected from the nucleotide sequence database and primers were developed to amplify the repeats. Initially, 40 different microsatellites locat

The family of an individual was studied who lacks the seventh component of complement in his serum (C7 homozygous deficiency). Both parents are C7 heterozygous-deficient. In this investigation, the following parameters were determined: complement components in functional and immunochemical tests; HL
