The book is geared towards a basic understanding of the concepts of linear optimization and of some classic, polynomially solvable network optimization problems. The unique feature of this book is that the verbal parts have been formulated both in German and English. In this way teaching of basic knowledge in mathematical optimization can be combined with an introduction into English as technical language or into the German language.
