β¦ Synopsis
The effect of different sequential phase distributions on the cross-polar performances of a linear array of sequentially fed circularly ( ) polarized CP patch antenna elements is analyzed. Using as an example a linear array of eight elements, the cross-polar peak locations and their maximum ¨alue are computed, and it is shown that phase distributions which do not pro¨ide symmetry in the excitation phase gi¨e minimum peak cross-polar ¨alues.

## Abstract In this article, a novel wideband cularlyβpolarized serial rotated 2 Γ 2 circular patch antenna array is presented. The patches are excited sequentially by a broadband feed network. It is found that the antenna array can deliver a measured impedance bandwidth of 46.6% for SWR < 2, 3βdB
