A new method for antenna pattern synthesis of linear arrays is described. The method is based on the application of the simulated annealing technique to achie¨e the excitations andror the positions of the elements for a desired radiation pattern. Design specifications include sidelobe le¨el, beamwidth, null control, and other parameters such as ¨ariation from starting excitations andror positions.
