β¦ Synopsis
The effect of nonlinearity on dynamics and the appearance of nonhomogeneous equilibrium states in a polyethylene crystal are analyzed. The role of different inputs into the nonlinearity of potentials of interaction is investigated theoretically by means of approximate equations. The solutions of these equations which describe equilibrium cracks, domain walls, bivacancies and vacancies are presented. The energies and elastic fields of these structural defects are calculated.

## Abstract We study the role of nonlinear effects in a classical oneβdimensional model of a conducting electronβion system. In particular we investigate the excitations of strongly nonlinear deformed phonons (cnoidal waves, solitons) on electric currents. We show that in a nonlinear lattice a new
Experiments are reviewed in which strong linear excitation of magnons by ac currents in Fe/Cr/Fe trilayers are observed through Brillouin light scattering. The scattering intensity is investigated as a function of the magnon wave number and applied magnetic field, thus providing strong evidence for
This work investigates the nonlinear behavior of a representative parametrically amplified macroscale structure. Specifically, the effort examines the effects of structural and inertial nonlinearities on the near-resonant response of a base-excited, flexible cantilever beam driven by a combined (sim
