Irnrnnunohistochernistry has various applications in breast pathology. Its contribution to routine practice can be discussed under four main headings : histopathological diagnosis, prognosis, prediction of the response to cytotoxic or hormonal treatments, and patient's follow-up. Irnrnunohistochernistry will expand from the m o m e n t that indications are clearly defined, techniques are standardized and consistent quality can be provided.
