✦ Synopsis

A phosphatase-overprcducing nutant of a Citrobacter sp. was evaluated in terms of its ability to self-imrobilize as a biofilm on reticulated foam supports and to accumulate uranium when retained in a flmthrough colusm. Parallel studies using polyacryltide gel-ianmbilized cells suggested decreased substrate was available to cells of the rmtant.
