Lillith, middle-aged wife, mother, and ordinary house-mare, is caught by the mind-meld summons of the newborn Supreme Don heir. "I'm too old," she wails to her husband as she wings her way frantically to the baby's side, accepting an unbreakable lifetime connection. Shortly after, she begins to develop extraordinary new talents not seen among her species in years.

Despite her fears, she breezes through his childhood, adolescence, and early adult traumas. When he refuses to accept his birthright at a time of danger for both their species, she seeks a way to push him out of his melancholy and into contacting the feared human colonists for help.

The world is Garador, earth-like in many ways. The year is 2014 after the first mind-meld. And the human colonists have established themselves as war-like beings.

LILLITH covers the first forty-three years of the Lillith-Joedon mind-meld. The first three chapters of EMERGENCE, the continuation, are also included.
