Two new compounds, the sesquiterpene glucoside carandoside (1) and (6__S__,7__R__,8__R__)‐7a‐[(β‐glucopyranosyl)oxy]lyoniresinol (2), were isolated from the stem of Carissa carandas, together with three known lignans. The structures of the isolated compounds were determined on the basis of spectroscopic evidence. Their DPPH free radical‐scavenging activities were also evaluated.
