✦ Synopsis

The radiative transition for an atom moving inside a spherical box is considered in the terms of electronic-field states. By using the hopping model, an analytical expression is obtained for the transition probability. This expression is compared with results obtained by numerical integration of the time-dependent Schriidinger equation.
