TemporzUy and spectrally resolved laser-induced tluorescencc in the X 3~i-X "X-sysrem of the XH radical has been measured in a low-pressure ftow discharge. Tfie radiative lifetimes of the u' = I and 0 levels are, respectively, 420 + 35 and 440 -L 15 ns. Relative transition probabilities A tvff for emission from u* = 1 are: A to = 0.030 f 0.006. At t = 3 .OO. rl tz = 0.032 f 0.003 and A t3 = 0.0014 f 0.0002. ~icuiat~ons of relative A u*u*' usins a Morse potential and a previously calculated ab initio electronic transition moment yield results for this highiy diagonal transition which agree with experiment IO within a factor of three or better.
