โฆ Synopsis
Radiative decay of the fluorescence following resonant excitation by a pulsed dye laser has been used to measure the radiative lifetimes of excited electronic states of molecular CuBr and CuI. Comparisons are made with radiative lifetimes for CuF and CuCI, and symmetries for the ( 3d94s) Cu+ excited states assigned for the heavier CuBr and CuI copper halides.
