## Abstract Adaptive polyphenism produces alternative phenotypes depending on environmental stimuli. The water flea __Daphnia pulex__ shows predator‐induced polyphenism, facultatively forming neckteeth in response to kairomones released by __Chaoborus__ larvae. This study was designed to reveal the
