Abstract

This paper deals with the utilization of bottom‐up development ideas. Its target is to study the life cycle of bottom‐up development ideas and factors that either prevent or facilitate the progress of ideas in organizations. The study follows the inductive process of building theory from cases. The data was collected in two industrial companies by interviewing 46 persons. Copyright © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
