As a part of our continuing screening programme of unusual fatty acid containing seed oils it was observed that the oil of Leucas urticaefolia seeds contains an allenic acid (24"o) which was characterized as 5 . 6 octadecadienoic (Laballenic) acid by using spectral and chemical degradation methods
