✦ Synopsis

Jablecki has reported a case of distal focal lipoatrophy.* Such cases can be confused with focal muscle atrophy. The case of the girl was misdiagnosed as distal muscle atrophy (Fig. 1). In fact, there was a loss of distal subcutaneous tissue giving an atrophic limb aspect similar to that caused by muscle atrophy.
