โฆ Synopsis
Letter to the Editor
A wide variety of prostatotrophic effects have been attributed to the anterior pituitary hormone, prolactin (PRL), and numerous laboratories, including our own, have shown that normal, hyperplastic, and neoplastic prostate are rich in PRL receptor activity [1,2]. Nevertheless, the primary physiological role of PRL in the prostate is still uncertain. To be sure, the study of PRL-prostate relationships is not in the mainstream of prostate research.
Recent studies suggest that further examination of PRL-prostate interactions may be of clinical value.
