✦ Synopsis
Edwards' syndrome, hence 1 in 2700 for either syndrome. The observation of 'isolated' cysts will increase the risk of Edwards' syndrome l6-fold to 1 in 1600 (16 x 1 in 25 000 or 1 in 25 000/16). The risk of Down's syndrome will remain at 1 in 3000 but the risk that the fetus has either of the syndromes will increase to 1 in 870 (3.1 x 1 in 2700 or 1 in 2700/3.1).
