## Abstract The mean square amplitudes of vibration, Debye–Waller factors and Debye temperatures of bismuth (Bi), antimony (Sb) and Bi~1–__x__~ –Sb~__x__~ alloys have been obtained from X‐ray intensities. The intensities have been measured with Philips 3020 diffractometer fitted with a proportiona

MSssbauer experiments on BaPbl-= Sbx Oa revealed only the presence of Sb(V), while in BaPbl-~ Bix Oa in the semiconducting phase the Bi-charge disproportionation is well established. We find a similar asymmetry in the NMR spectra. The NMR spectra on semiconducting BaPbl-xSbxO3 clearly show the charge disproportionation of lead, while in BaPbl-xBixO3 in the semiconducting phase only Pb(IV) is observed. The metallic phases of the Sb-doped compounds show one lead resonance line. Based on the NMR spectra and the elemental analysis a phase diagram for BaPbl-xSbxO3 is proposed with a miscibility gap in the range of 0.35 < x < 0.50.
