โฆ Synopsis
The use of lead isotope ratio measurements for bullet individualization is discussed. The wide variation found in the isotopic composition of lead, which changes with the place of origin of lead ore, has been used in the solution of archeological problems and for the determination of sources of lead particulates in polluted atmospheres. The fact that bullet slugs are nearly pure lead suggests the application of isotope ratio analysis to bullet identijcation. Experimental results of a limited number of analyses of bullet lead are presented; however, a great deal of further experimental work is required.
