โฆ Synopsis
The leaching rate of cobalt-60 and cesium-137 in cement has been studied. The solidification matrix was a standard Portland cement mixed with 300-360 (kg/m 3) spent ion exchange resins, with or without 2-5% of bentonite clay. The leaching rates from the cement marix were measured as Co-60: (4, 2-6, 9) x 10 -5 (cm/d), and for Cs-137: (3, 2-6, 6) x 10 -4 (crn/d), after 720 days. From the leaching data the apparent diffusivity of cobalt and cesium in cement matrix with a waste load of 300-360 kg/m~ spent ion exchange resins, was measured as Co-60: (1, 0-4, 0) x 10 -6 (cm2/d) and for Cs-137: (0, 5-2, 6) x 10-4-(cm2/d), after 750 days.

Studies have been carried out on the immobilization of spent ion-exchange resins produced in nuclear power plants in urea-formaldehyde matrix. The matrices were prepared by incorporating different types of ion-exchange resins in the pH range of 4.5 to 5.0, using boric acid as a catalyst. Characteriz
In order to prepare phosphoric acid resins (RGPs) with large cation exchange capacities, effects of porosity and cross-linking of the precursory poly(glycidyl methacrylate-co-divinylbenzene) beads on their functionalization with phosphoric acid were studied. Two series of precursory copolymers were
