High efficiency operation on continuous-wave (cw) 912 nm laser at room temperature in Nd:GdVO4 crystal pumped by 808 nm diode-laser is reported in this letter. The maximum output power of 8.0 W was obtained at the incident un-polarized pump power of 47.0 W, giving the corresponding optical-tooptical

โฆ Synopsis
We demonstrated an all solid-state Nd:GdVO 4 Raman laser using LiIO3 as Raman crystal. The maximum output power of 0.645 W was obtained at 1166 nm, corresponding to the conversion efficiency of 8.5%. The Raman laser generated pulse width of 1166 nm as short as 9 ns, which was about four times shorter than that of fundamental light of 1.06 ฮผm. The maximum pulse energy of 62 ฮผJ and the highest peak power of 5.1 kW were achieved with pulse repetition frequency of 5 kHz.
