โœฆ Synopsis

Will Socrates make the world a better place? The question, I think, discloses a basic paradox in Lawrence Kohlberg's work. The paradox is that of simultaneously seeking the truth and doing the good, an offshoot of the naturalistic fallacy that claims the unity of epistemology and morality, of is and ought. Space limitations here preclude a full unraveling of the intricacies of this paradox in Kohlberg's work, so I instead provide a few glimpses of its practical importance.
