Abstract
In this paper, we present the results of our investigations on the lasing in dye doped chiral liquid crystals with structural defects. The introduction of structural defects (TiO~2~ microbeads) into cholesterics results in multimode laser generation and increasing the threshold energy. In the same time, utilization of multilayers in a FLC cell leads to a tremendous reduction of threshold energy. (Β© 2007 WILEYβVCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
