The rotational structure of the laser-excited fluorescence of yttrium monoiodide, recorded on a Fourier transform spectrometer, was analyzed, enabling the characterization of two excited states at T e ฯณ 20 690 and ฯณ24 100 cm ฯช1 . Observation of the ground state X 1 โŒบ ฯฉ is extended up to v ฯญ 15. A sc
