The thermal poling method was utilized to create second-order optical nonlinearity in Pyrex borosilicate glass. The distribution and amplitude of the induced nonlinearity were characterized with second harmonic microscopy. The induced optical nonlinearity was found in a thin layer around 1.9 lm unde

Second Harmonic Generation was observed in the electron-beam irradiated GeS 2 -In 2 S 3 -CdS chalcogenide glasses, which were induced by the frozen-in electric field due to the electron-beam irradiation. The Second Harmonic Intensity increased with the increasing of the irradiating current and time.
