β¦ Synopsis
This paper gives a brief overview of some of the recent Krylov subspace techniques for large-scale matrix computations and their applications to the solutions of large-scale control problems. The research in this area is still in its infancy, but is quite active. For a comprehensive account of results in this area, see Datta (1999).

Many large-scale systems exhibit the structure of weakly connected components. In such cases, proper identification of weakly coupled subsystems will add insight into large-scale system behavior, and aid in related tasks such as the design of decentralized control. e-decomposition is a well-known e
