An all-fiber antenna using piezoelectric polymer-coated circular core D-fiber has been characterized using finite-element analysis. The response of the D-fiber antenna was determined o¨er a wide frequency range from 1 to 600 MHz. The modeling predicts an electricfield-induced phase shift of 0.00173

Abstract
A field‐trial system is presented in this paper to demonstrate that radio‐over‐fiber (RoF) techniques can be successfully applied to the remoting of a large antenna array for radio astronomical applications. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
