This is one of several recent studies that critically analyze those factors that are predictive of survival in out-of-hospital cardiac arrest victims. The dismal outcome for those patients who deteriorate to asystole or a pulseless radioventr~cular rhythm has been the stimulus .for treatment regimens that deviate from the current ACLS recommendations.
