Over a 15-month period, 39 patients (37 men) of mean age 52 years underwent laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair. Seven patients had bilateral hernia. Forty-six hernias (33 indirect, five direct, eight both direct and indirect) were repaired. A piece of polypropylene mesh measuring 8 x 10 cm was use
