β¦ Synopsis
It has come to my attention that the article by Hausmann and Radek [1995], quoted in my article [Satir, 1995] as demonstrating axonemes that run clockwise in one row, but counter-clockwise in an adjacent row in a termite gut protozoan, is incorrect. The images shown in the Hausmann and Radek [1995] article were computer generated. The single enantiomorphic form of the axoneme, with arms running clockwise when the axoneme is viewed base to tip, remains inviolate.
