✦ Synopsis

There is a growing interest in land mobile satellite systems at Ka-band for broadband communications. An accurate characterization of shadowing effects is needed to help plan such new systems. Here, the analysis of a measurement campaign carried out in urban and suburban areas in which shadowing effects were recorded is presented.
