✦ Synopsis

A theory is presented predicting the thickness of the liquid tilm that remains on a sheet being withdrawn from a bath under conditions that inertial forces are important. Inertial forces have been neglected in other withdrawal theories. The liquid flux does not differ much from the flux in withdrawal without inertial and capillary forces. However, the flow in the meniscus region is modified considerably. The region of applicability of this theory is compared with that of the other two withdrawal theories, for high and low Ca-number withdrawal.
