The paper provides details of a numerical study of the bayonet tube during the lamina~turbulent transition when the fluid is air. Attention is focused on the heat transfer characteristics of the tube. The data constitute a systematic investigation of the effect of several parameters on the overall h

## Abstract Ryan and Johnson's treatment of the transition from laminar to turbulent flow is extended to include the heated flow of pseudoplastic liquids in smooth tubes. A limitation is pointed out for the case of Bingham plastic fluids. The theoretical results of the present investigation are co
