The laminar flow of all illcompressible fluid in the inlet of a pipe is allalyzed llumerically. The numerical technique allows a closer approximatioll to the basic equatiolls of fluid motioll than has been possible in previous illvestigations. Significallt differellces are showll betweell the results of the llumerical solution and previous work for both velocity profiles and development lengths.
