✦ Synopsis
The isolation and purification of the antibiotic lambdamycin are described. The physicochemical properties of the chromoglycoside lambdamycin resemble those of chartreusin. In this paper we compare the physicochemical properties of chartreusin and antibiotic X 465 with lambdamycin (α D, UV, IR). Lambdamycin is identified with chartreusin.
