✦ Synopsis

A 50-day-old b o y with severe lactose intolerance is described. In a d d i t i o n to vomiting, failure to thrive, dehydration, metabolic acidosis and amino aciduria, bilateral cataracts were also found.

At three months of age, a computerized axial t o m o g r a p h y scan and an electroencephalogram were a b n o r m a l , and myoclonic spasms began at the age of seven months.
