Mutations were screened for in the glucokinase gene of 25 Japanese patients with Type 2 (non-insulin-dependent) diabetes mellitus. Each exon was scanned by electrophoresis of enzymatically amplified DNA segments under non-denaturing conditions and variants were sequenced. A variant pattern was detec
