Guillermo Linero ha muerto. Aunque el lugar común ha sido usado cientos de veces, nada es más cierto en esta novela que todas las familias son infelices a su manera. Tras la muerte de Guillermo, dos bandos se pelearán con tretas más o menos legales por el control del Grupo Linero, compuesto de varias empresas y propiedades en varios países. Esta novela del escritor Andrés Hoyos retrata el mundo de la altísima clase dirigente del país durante un momento especialmente tormentoso para la historia colombiana, a comienzos de los años 90. Una familia riquísima se reúne en los clubes, hoteles y restaurantes más lujosos para planear maneras de mentir, engañar y traicionarse entre sí mientras se pelean por una herencia de miles de millones de pesos.
