✦ Synopsis

Abstract

This paper presents an integrally formed printed quadrifilar helical antenna (PQHA) and balun‐fed network combination for satellite communication systems in Ku‐band. At this frequency band, we demonstrate that the antenna can be simply realized and will demonstrate good radiation characteristics. Analysis of this antenna is achieved by the FDTD method. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract A new approach to designing a broadband printed quadrifilar helical antenna (PQHA) is presented. The printed wire is conical in shape, while the feed network is directly integrated underneath the antenna. The entire system is designed using Ansoft HFSS. Good agreement with the experimen
