✦ Synopsis

Abstract

A novel multiway rectangular waveguide power divider using coaxial probe array has been presented. The model of the entire power divider has been introduced, and the effect of the higher order modes generated in the power divider has been discussed. A Ku‐band eight‐way rectangular waveguide power divider has been designed and fabricated. Good agreement between the simulated response and measurements was demonstrated. The measured 15‐dB return loss and 1‐dB insertion loss bandwidth of the power divider are all found to be about 7 GHz. The power divider developed is suitable for various applications of wide bandwidth. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
