✦ Synopsis
Abstract
This letter presents the design, fabrication, and measurement of a KTa1‐xNb~x~O~3~‐ (KTN‐) based phase shifter. This loaded‐line phase shifter has insertion losses of about 7.36 dB at zero bias and 10 GHz, a return loss greater than 12 dB over the frequency range 1–16 GHz and a relatively high differential phase shift of about 88° for a 120 V DC bias at 10 GHz. The enhancement of performances observed by comparison with those presented by the KTN‐based phase shifters positions KTN materials as a serious alternative to Ba1‐x__Sr~x~__TiO~3~ ones for microwave agility applications. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract A tunable coherent photonic microwave notch filter based on phase‐shifted fiber Bragg grating is proposed. Because of the Yb^3+^/Al^3+^ codoped optical fiber between two sub‐FBGs, the optical phase of the delayed signal is linearly and precisely controlled by adjusting the injected pump
In this paper, a new approach to optimally design a phase shifter consisting of a periodic array of ferroelectric-based tunable planar interdigital capacitors (IDCs) is presented. Spiral slots in the proposed configuration reduces the overall size and improves the performance by 30%.
## Abstract This paper presents the realization of a hybrid tunable phase shifter. The principle advantage of the hybrid approach is the low cost of the varactor diodes. The phase shifter employs a variable‐velocity transmission line obtained by periodically loading a coplanar waveguide (CPW) with
