✦ Synopsis

Schleiermacher was one of the best known and most influential pulpit orators of the 19^th century. This volume includes sermons for 55 dates in 1825, among them 28 that were previously completely unknown. For five texts there are supplemental postscripts provided from members of his audience. In addition, the sermons published in the Complete Works are examined and textually critiqued by means of parallel sources.
